Preparation steps for Phantom Extension + Ledger users Migrating DeGods to Ethereum

  • Updated

Follow these steps to be ready for the migration process.

If you haven't already, upgrade your Phantom app to the multichain version by redeeming the beta code.

Settings > Redeem beta code > Enter the code "MIGRATION"

If you already have a SOL-only ledger account on Phantom and want to add ETH+Polygon accounts to it, you will need to remove it from Phantom and then follow the steps below.

  1. Click the hamburger icon at the top left.

  2. Click +

  3. Select Connect Hardware Wallet

  4. Select all three chains

    5. Complete the steps until you have a Multichain ledger account on Phantom.

On the day of the migration

Select the SOL account where your DeGods are “From”, and then toggle Phantom to the ETH account you want them to migrate “To” (the one we just created above).

  1.  I am unable to find my old SOL ledger wallet after removing it from the Phantom app.
A: In this case, you need to select only the SOL chain during the ledger connect flow to add your old SOL ledger wallet to the Phantom app. When you are done, go through the ledger connect flow again to add a new Multichain ledger account by selecting all three chains. You will be required to switch between the old SOL ledger wallet and the newly created multichain ledger wallet to establish connectivity and begin the migration process.
  2. Do I need to unstake my DeGods before Migration?
    A: Yes.
  3. I am unable to upgrade my Phantom wallet to Multichain version.
A: If you get an "Invalid code" error make sure you enter the code "MIGRATION" without any spaces after them.
If the upgrade fails after accepting the code, you need to reinstall your Phantom app and then try again. Take a backup of your seed phrases/private keys before reinstalling the app.
  4. I am having trouble connecting my Phantom wallet to the DeGods website.
A: Go to Settings > Default App Wallet > Select "Always ask" and then restart your browser.
  5. I don't use a ledger wallet but I don't see multichain accounts after upgrading my Phantom app to the multichain version.
A: You might be using an imported wallet (private key), private key wallets won't be upgraded to multichain since they are not tied to the seed phrase. You need to create an additional wallet and then use these two wallets to complete the migration. If that's not the case, please open a ticket using the below option.
  6. How do I connect to Blur/Opensea using the Phantom multichain version?
A: You need to click on the 🦊 wallet to connect.
  7. I am having trouble connecting my ledger multichain wallet to Blur/Opensea
  • Make sure you are on your multichain wallet before you connect.
  • The default app wallet should be set to "Always ask" or "Phantom" (Settings > Default app wallet)
  • Click on the 🦊 wallet to connect.
  • If these steps don't work: Restart your browser and repeat the above steps.

8. I am not getting prompts on my ledger after connecting to Blur/Opensea

  • Make sure your Ledger device and Ethereum app in your ledger device are updated to the latest version.
  • Ethereum app should be open and blind sign should be ON.
  • The Ledger live application should be closed.
