How to report a scam?

  • Updated

At Phantom, our utmost priority is to provide a safe and secure environment for our users to access Web3 applications. To achieve this, we actively monitor the latest scam trends, aiming to protect our users from falling victim to any fraudulent activities.

We kindly request your assistance in identifying and reporting phishing links, fake websites, applications, social media impersonators, or any other platform that might be responsible for the loss of funds.

In the unfortunate event that you become a victim of a scam, we advise you to report the theft to local cybercrime authorities and consider declaring it as a loss on your taxes. Additionally, you may try to trace the funds using blockchain explorers.

Moreover, specialized teams are available to track stolen funds. If such funds are sent to an exchange, these teams will try to contact the exchange and freeze the funds.

It is important to note that Phantom is a non-custodial wallet. This means we do not have control over your seed phrases or funds stored in the blockchain. This means that we don't have the ability to reverse the funds to your wallet or provide compensation for the same. Be safe out there!

If you haven't already, kindly take a moment to review the article on security best practices.
